Summary of Position

To strengthen our team, we are currently looking for an Sr IMS Systems programmer.  The position will be responsible for our virtual IBM zOS environment, including product installs and support, systems administration, and integration. IMS experience is a must have in the area of deployments, administration, and helping the R&D team understand the IMS internals.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Your responsibility will be the installation, configuration and ongoing maintenance of our virtual IBM zOS Mainframe infrastructure running technology such as Assembler, COBOL, CICS, DB2, IMS, with a strong emphasis on IMS deployment, and administration.

 

Must haves:

§  Experience analyzing product and/or technical plans, with the ability to identify success metrics, risks, and dependencies.

§  Proven experience in installing and configuring IMS TM and DB.

§  Proven experience in installing and configuring zOS.

§  English communication skills..

§  An open mind to learn and work with different technologies.

 

Nice to have:

§  Experience analyzing product and/or technical plans, with the ability to identify success metrics, risks, and dependencies.

§  Experience in installing and configuring CICS.

§  Experience in installing and configuring COBOL compiler.

§  Experience in installing and configuring Assembler compiler.

§  Experience with common Mainframe tools such as RACF.

 

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

§  Experience analyzing issues with IMS.

§  Experience in capacity planning for zOS.

§  Process improvement experience for zOS integration.

 

Education and Experience

§  Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Analytics, or equivalent practical experience.

§  5+ years’ experience with zOS administration.

§  Experience working in Professional Services organization is preferred.
