ADABAS/Natural -- Mainframe to Cloud .Net Software Engineer

Will hold the title of: LEAD SOFTWARE MIGRATION SPECIALIST

Summary of Position

The LEAD SOFTWARE MIGRATION SPECIALIST works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
Strong knowledge in Natural and Adabas technologies on IBM mainframes. Leads the development efforts of critical, industry-class, on-house, or commercial products as well as tooling for use in project work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Interface with management, internal team members and clients to develop custom applications and/or enhancements to current product lines, resolve product issues, and lead one of the Factory Pods.
• The Factory Pod contains a Lead, this position, with 2-4 direct reports working our Factory software stack for clients to perform mainframe refactors to C# or JAVA.
• Document requirements, use cases, system design and code
• Manage multiple concurrent projects to completion on-time and on-budget
• Deliver within the scope of the project while protecting project profit margins
• Work closely with team members and clients to achieve desired results
• Thrive in an environment of collaboration and change
• Develop our Factory products for client adhering to coding standards and best practices

Education and Experience

• 5+ years of experience with Natural and Adabas mainframe applications and databases
• 5+ Years of Development experience using cutting edge development tools in C# and/or JAVA
• Agile methodology for software development.
• Certifications in any of the following Azure technologies:
  • Azure Developer Associate
  • Business/Data Analytics (70-767, 70-768, or Data Scientist Associate)
  • Windows (70-412, 70-740, 70-741, 70-742)
•  BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

• Expert level in Natural and ADABAS technologies
• Mid-to-Expert level experience coding in C# and/or JAVA
  • Capable of coding, performing builds, and rollouts
  • Experience with algorithms and data structures
• Expert-level capability to code using highly abstract design principles.
  • Exposure to or experience with third party development frameworks desired
  • The ability to learn new frameworks in a short period
• Strong object-oriented programming skills.
• Proven experience in Mainframe and Cloud Technology.
• Strong understanding of Mainframe and Cloud technologies.
• Strong-to-expert database development knowledge.
  • SQL development
  • Understanding of database concepts
  • Ability to create/maintain database objects
  • Query tuning
  • Database locking
• Experienced in unit testing, test-driven development, integration testing, and deployment using cloud technologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with Agile Development Methodologies
