Project Manager/Coordinator
Enterprise-Level Mainframe to Cloud Conversion Projects

As Project Coordinator (PC) you are responsible for assisting our experienced PMO in the organization and tracking of tasks involved in both large and very large Mainframe Modernization projects that are critical to our client’s enterprise strategic objectives.

This role works in close cooperation and under the guidance of a Modernization Program Manager.
The successful candidate must also be an excellent communicator (both verbal and written) and must possess solid organization and computer skills. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Assist with planning, executing, and controlling projects through the project development lifecycle, with documentation of deliverables 
  • Schedule, participate in, and document project meetings on all levels, write up minutes and action items to be approved by Program Manager 
  • Assist the project’s Program Manager in all project administration tasks as directed including the following:
    • Negotiates schedules, milestones, activities, and resources required to meet project objectives.
    • Documents and completes project management deliverables required by the project
    • Builds contingency plans, executes corrective actions when necessary and implements risk response plans to manage risk 
  • Asses risk - Work with the project team and key stakeholders to identify issues and risks, and to implement correction action plans or risk response plans as appropriate 
  • Assist with roadmap and increment planning and activities as required
Experience working with agile project management and program management (e.g., as scrum master /or in agile PMO) is strongly desired, and includes use of tools for tasks level tracking - 
  • Exposure to Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar software for project management is a plus
  • Experience with Scaled Agile a plus 
  • Experience working in global and distributed work environments a plus. 
     
Looking for Specific Project Experience, Skills, and Knowledge 
Strongly desired experience in... 
  • Technical Development or Data conversions, with Cloud(Azure or AWS), and/or Mainframe(all flavors) conversion projects is a huge plus 
  • Supply chain, specifically demand or capacity planning 
  • Process improvement experience, specifically for Technical projects with multiple locations in large and VERY large scale.
  • Understanding of process improvement approaches / methodologies.
  • 1-3+ years of experience in software development and Project Administration that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position 
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Professional Office Suite 
  • Undergraduate degree or 4+ years of comparable work experience; educational concentration in Information Technology or similar field is preferred 
  • Experience in technical program or project management on cross-functional projects. 
     
Travel and Authorization Requirements 
  • Work is designed for 100% remote/telecommute.
  • Travel is dependent upon client assignments (can be negotiated)
  • 100% remote and USA authorization only
