LEAD SOFTWARE DEVELOPER, CLOUD MIGRATION SPECIALIST
This Software Development Lead will be leveraged for a long term* municipal project, where the goal is a hybridization of the IDMS systems into the cloud.
We are building multiple project teams, and this role would LEAD a team of 2-4 in the development of custom applications to bridge the migrations of the IDMS, ADS/0 to the Azure Cloud (with some AWS) - preferably in C#, but Java is also an option.
Big Three -
- C#, any framework. Cloud flavor is Azure (some AWS is plus)
- Mainframe flavors are IBM Family, with experience in ADS/0 tools for IDMS systems
- Remote, but strong preference to East Coast and Central Time Zones
US Citizen only (and able to hold Security Clearance, but no active clearance required)
Also, all REMOTES must be done within USA (including no Canada/Quebec désolé)
NO sponsorship (no H1 or EAD/GC) for these roles
Requirements:
- 10+ years’ experience as C# framework developer, with lead/report experience in complex enterprise environments
- Experience with large scale enterprise systems implementation and ‘big system remediation’ expertise
- Azure Application Integration experience is a big <MUST>, AWS is a plus.
- Application Replatforming Experience (Archtitecture/Solutions Architecture) from
- IBM/Family Mainframe into Azure via C#
- Mainframe IDMS family (CA, and X is fine) to (MS)SQL Server based solutions via Azure is expected.
- Strong enterprise application software architecture, solutions architecture POV
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate the IT team on their assessment of applications and develop:
- Provide a full-time (40hr) resource Leadership for a group of 2-4
- Track the components being estimated and coordinate estimating processes with appropriate SME’s.
- Document assumptions and risks, and follow up on dependencies and action items.
- Manage multiple concurrent projects to completion on-time and on-budget
- Deliver within the scope of the project while protecting project profit margin
- Review the current state of Current technology platforms, as well as any planned changes.
- Interview key stakeholders to determine high-level architectural direction.
- Assist and Work with the Enterprise Data Architect on modeling future state data flows and storage plans.
- Develop a time-phased Roadmap to be included in the Architecture Vision.
- Support the Infrastructure Lead with defining the technology footprint: networking, databases, servers, middleware, etc.
The best candidates will have experience with migrations of large systems to both vendor packages and custom built hybrid cloud applications.
