Experience as a Technical Support Engineer:
Monitoring Strackdriver, Datadog, Splunk or Grafana.
Linux/shell comfortable, scripting ability (shell, perl, python, etc).
Familiarity w/Java (can read, can commit simple code changes -- configurations, bug fix, etc).
API working knowledge and web technologies.
Familiarity w/Kafka/Pubsub, Docker, containers and Kubernetes all plusses.
DB - familiarity w/mysql, sql server, bigquery etc
Cloud technologies are a plus like GCS and AWS.
Internal Notes:
Looking for Tier III-IV support, this team handles fast-paced database, pipelining, and ETL work. Data management, scripting, and automation falls under this role
This role won’t be responsible for writing code, but needs to understand it to debug it as needed - Python or Javascript are primary focuses, other scripting languages applicable
This role/team handles a lot of data ingestion and exporting issues
What we want to see when an issue arises, mentality of “make one fix, and make that fix automated so next time that error arises, it gets fixed itself”
Works with GCS/GCP mainly, would like basic knowledge of it
