Business Systems Anlayst (Charles River IMS)

This candidate should have some financial services industry background, specifically understanding different security types and attributes, ESG, basic trade flow and position data.  Knowledge of Charles River IMS is preferred.  The candidate will involve building and enhancing data being loaded to Charles River IMS environment for the investment and compliance teams.    Additionally, the candidate will occasionally support enhancements to legacy fixed income systems as well as regulatory trade reporting.  This resource should have experience working closely with compliance, trading assistants and other investment operations folks.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Performs analysis of business activities to determine business requirements.  Works with compliance and investment operations to understand and define needs above and beyond requirements provided by the business.  Converts business requirements into functional specifications\user stories\use cases.  Works closely with the business users, QA, developers, and other technology professionals to ensure that project deliverables are completed on time.
 
  1. Work with business users to modify existing data loads and source new data that is loaded to CRIMS to meet the needs of the investment team and compliance.   
 
  1. Works with BA, development and QA teams to ensure existing application integrations are working as designed, including ensuing all data elements are being loaded and displayed properly. 
 
  1. Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and the technology organization to ensure proper implementation of requirements within the expected timetable.  Communicates any material modifications of business requirements to business stakeholders.
 
  1. Ensure proper data processing through the creation and use of data checks and reports to facilitate error free business processes.
 
  1. Collaborates with the QA team in developing high level test plans.  Reviews test cases developed by the QA team.  Also based on resource constraints may take on the testing tasks themselves.  Works with automated testing team when needed for performance / load testing as well as automated regression testing.
 
  1. Works to ensure a positive end product for business stakeholders by overseeing the implementation of new software.  Creates and maintains proper training materials and business documentation and facilitates user acceptance testing and training.
 
  1. Follow Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), ensuring that all steps of the process have been followed prior to releasing any code.
 
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a business or technology related field.
 
  1. Minimum of four years of experience in the financial services industry, supporting buy-side technology.
 
  1. Experience mapping and loading data between systems both using bulk file loads as well as real time messaging.
 
  1. Broad background financial services and understanding of different security attirbutes, analytics, ESG and other financial services data.
 
  1. Strong hands on experience with SQL
 
  1. Solid technical skills including an understanding of underlying relevant technical architecture and business processes
 
  1. Proven ability to efficiently utilize resources and communicate with others, both verbally and in writing.
 
  1. Proven analytical skills and a demonstrated ability to make independent decisions and drive home solutions.
 
  1. An in-depth understanding of systems development lifecycle.  Ability to perform detailed analysis on these systems at all phases of the project lifecycle.
 
  1. Ability to consider the business implications of the application technology to the current and future state business environment.
 
  1. Proven ability to develop creative solutions to meet business needs.
