Senior Cloud Architect (Kubernetes)

This is a remote role with a Syrinx Marketing Technology Partner based MA

12+ Month Contract with Possible Extension (Syrinx will hire full-time if desired)

Our client is in the midst of a transformation project going from AWS to Kubernetes. They don’t have the expertise in-house and are looking for a senior cloud resource that has been through one of these before to help with automation, make sure they are not overcomplicating things, help set up monitoring and alerts and is very well versed with security. 

  

You should have experience running and securing Kubernetes in a production environment and should be able to provide best practices to run applications in Kubernetes. Knowledge/experience in any of the following areas is a plus, EKS, ISTIO, gloo-edge and gloo-mesh, Argo, terraform, terragrunt, gitops and jenkins. 

 

• Partner with business leadership to identify problems, and opportunities for technology innovation.
• Help establish a clear, consistent technology vision through collaboration, influence, and enablement.
• Research, recommend, design and develop systems and application architecture.
• Stay informed on initiatives across the industry and the enterprise to help product owners and IT leadership effectively prioritize.
• Tailor communication and convey complex ideas in a concise manner to a diverse set of audiences and venues.
• Craft guidance that helps delivery teams identify quality risk factors around security and compliance.
• Identify and assess the organizational impact of enterprise architecture and standards, including change in skills, processes and structures.
• Accelerate delivery by forming a network of positive relationships with vendors, and other influencers within the enterprise and beyond.
• Mentor associate engineers and senior leadership alike. Inspire and lead senior technical individual contributors.
• 10+ years of architecture experience in applications development in a complex, multi-platform distributed environment.
• Experience developing highly scalable applications using service-oriented, microservice, and/or RESTful API based architectures at an enterprise scale.
• Deep knowledge of deploying secure applications using Kubernetes or other similar tooling
• Experience with serverless computing environments such as AWS Lambda and Knative
• Expertise with cloud native service offerings
• Experience in messaging platforms, protocols, and technologies
• Expertise with database technologies
• Programming mindset, demonstrated skills in Java, Golang and/or equivalent
• Experience with CI toolchains, git, GitOps, Helm Charts, service mesh
• Deep knowledge of how to secure complex systems and infrastructure against different attack vectors. You have led threat modeling exercises, and helped craft remediation plans.
