JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a Temporary Senior Product Test Engineer who will evaluate products, develop safety test documentation, and demonstrate proper execution to the manufacturing team.
This role will be based in our Marlborough office reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
These include the evaluation of designs and the development of production safety test plans in accordance with IEC 61010-3rd Edition, including Amendment 1, 2017.
• Implementation of IEC-61010 safety tests for new products and re-evaluation of existing safety procedures for existing products
• Review of the current production test plans provide in the certification reports, including Dielectric Voltage-Withstand and Earthing Continuity Tests
• Development of ISO compliant test plans and generation of test instructions for manufacturing and repair personnel
• Development of pass/fail criteria and work with design engineers as necessary to create modifications
• Complete cross-org reviews of the plans and run through with technicians on production floor
DECISION-MAKING LATITUDE
• As the technical expert on IEC-61010 procedures this role will be deciding on the processes and equipment required
• Advise engineering personnel on proper design changes to meet the requirements, where necessary
• Decide on optimal procedures for contract manufacturing sites
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION:
Bachelor of Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent safety certifications
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
• 5-10 years experience in IEC 61010 test and measurement from a safety perspective
• Experience with a test engineering contracting lab or similar industrial experience
• Experience with Contract Manufacturing facilities processes and procedures
• Experience with ISO documentation and controls
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE (Not Required):
• Experience in product design, especially high power and voltage
• Experience with transient protection systems and AC line filtering
• Experience with the power generation industry
