Senior Visual Designer

The Senior Visual Designer is responsible for conceptualizing and designing visual communications and digital interfaces. This role strongly contributes as a member of the Digital Experience & Design team to meet user, client and Bank objectives related to the quality of design and purpose of the communication or interface. The Senior Visual Designer must be adept at partnering with colleagues to achieve cutting-edge results, and must be able to advise and support Bank stakeholders on the most effective, evolving approaches. The job requires working knowledge of a wide range of technologies and a commitment to keeping abreast of industry trends, evaluating leading practices and new service offerings, and raising awareness and support for the Bank's brand. The Senior Visual Designer recommends improvements in the delivery of Visual Design best practices, visual communications, and design technologies in advancement of strategic business objectives. Knowledge and experience typically acquired through, or equivalent to, the completion of Bachelor's degree with a major in graphic design, visual studies or other design-related field and 5 – 7 years of related job experience. • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary, collaborative team • Strong ability to think creatively and innovatively to solve design problems • Strong initiative, planning and organization skills • Strong design and typography skills, production values, and attention to detail • A strong eye for photography and composition • Strong oral and written communication skills. When communicating, articulates and explains comprehensive information clearly and concisely to target audience. • Strong ability to make sound recommendations and decisions based on business goals, industry patterns and prior experience • Competent in application of user-centered design principles • Demonstrated expertise designing in Adobe Creative Cloud products and other tools of the design trade. • Knowledge of digital photo/video production a plus • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively with business owners and teammates to solve business challenges • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, Premier, Final Cut Pro, video hosting software, or other professional editing software, ideal

 

Responsibilities:
Principal Accountabilities 1. Proficient at consulting with project teams to understand business and design goals in collaboration with business partners. Incorporates industry best practices to deliver strong print and digital designs for moderate to highly complex design and interface challenges. 2. Responsible for the design process from concept through final production/implementation. Responsible for production/implementation working closely with the other UX/Design team members. 3. Expert at analyzing business needs with support from team. Creates design artifacts including sketches, wireframes, storyboards, charts, graphic assets, layouts, and more for both print and interactive projects 4. Collaborates with UX/Design, Digital Strategy, and Communications Strategy colleagues to establish scope of needed changes or modifications to programs. 5. Remains current in industry research and design principles. Participates in activities to understand user needs related to specific Bank programs and products. 6. Proficient at leading by example and demonstrates high performance in the areas of customer service, collaboration, team work, and reliability. 7. Demonstrates competence in data visualization/data presentation 8. Sources image options, both original and stock, and is responsible for the coordination of travel and table-top photo-shoots to support key campaigns 9. Develops guidelines for brand best practices 10. Conceptualize, plan, shoot, and produce still photographs and video for the Bank audiences and communication channels
