Web Content Management Lead Engineer

Boston, MA
The Web Content Management Lead Engineer will be responsible for developing and maintaining content management system-driven websites and modifying and customizing internally built websites. Provide ongoing technical oversight for the CMS and participate in the requirements analysis, specifications, and design of new websites. Responsible for set up and maintenance of standards-compliant websites and solving complex performance problems.
 
 
Candidate Responsibilities
 
  • Collaborate with various external and internal stakeholders in designing, developing, and implementing projects using our CMS systems (Drupal, Contentful)
  • Partner with CMS vendor on technical support, system upgrades, and ongoing improvements
  • Serve as a subject matter expert to maintain blueprint and standards for our CMS systems
  • Support management and internal stakeholders in creating a migration path off legacy CMS systems to Contentful
  • Provide ongoing consultation and advice to internal customers about Contentful features and architectural design best-practices to aid their projects' long-term success
  • Design and develop CMS frameworks, tools, and accelerators that will leverage technology, team members, and the organization
  • Provide thought leadership to management about using the right approach for API-first & headless CMS and delivering content in today's multi-channel world
  • Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting to internal team for all issues
  • Estimate efforts and assist in project planning for different project phases
  • Design and implement reusable CMS components
Candidate Qualifications
  • 7-10 years of experience in the IT industry and 3+ years of experience as a Technical Lead with a good understanding of the Contentful CMS platform
  • BA/BS Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent
  • Strong understanding of ECM, WCM, DAM, and headless CMS architecture is crucial
  • Certification in Contentful architecture would be a huge advantage
  • Hands-on experience in programming languages, like Java, PHP, .NET, Ruby, Node.js, and Python
  • Proven experience in the current web technologies, like JavaScript frameworks, static site generators, REST APIs, CDNs, CI/CD, etc.
  • Experience building WCAG ‘AA’ compliant websites
  • A strong background in implementing large WCM systems using tools like Adobe Experience Manager, WordPress, Drupal, etc. is desirable
  • Exhibit strong problem-solving skills, analytical skills, understand technical requirements, and provide effective architectural solutions
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Extensive experience in Software Development Life Cycle Management using Kanban, Scrum, or Scaled Agile is required
  • Experience in design and launching complex business/responsive design applications
