Software Consultant (.Net, SSIS, SQL)

The Developer must have the ability to identify and resolve issues in a timely and efficient manner and work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment. The software engineer will work closely with other IT team members of varying disciplines and our internal business partners to meet stated objectives.  The role involves direct interaction with end users and requires excellent analytical and communication skills. The position reports to the IT Team Lead.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Work on a delivery team to develop, enhance, and support various Client Engagement solutions, primarily client reporting
  • Act as the solution engineer responsible for the implementation of approved technologies that align with Acadian’s technical architecture, customer`s business plans, and long-term strategy.
  • Establish and maintain continuous delivery pipelines to fully automate the integration of components across different embedded projects
  • Develop, maintain and enhance internal and client reports and the API’s that deliver data
  • Investigate and resolve issues impacting our production environment
  • Help perform data validations and resolve data discrepancies to ensure accuracy of client reports and other reports
  • Work collaboratively within IT and with various business units across the firm
  • Understand business workflows and identify opportunities to advance capabilities, gain efficiencies, reduce risk
  • Perform analysis at the application, code, and data level
  • Perform support analysis; research, test, and track business issues and software defects
  • Perform story creation an grooming and develop acceptance criteria as an agile team member assigned to projects that directly impact the Global Client Group
  • Partner with various teams to research, resolve, and document production issues
  • Facilitate cross-team communication and alignment
  • Help the company advance toward its target architecture and development practices and retire legacy applications
 
Qualifications:
  • B.S. in computer science or related field; 5-10+ years’ experience in software development and systems integration
  • Relevant work experience in the asset management industry required, specifically supporting information delivery, application support, and integration efforts
  • Solid knowledge of modern software design principles, concepts, and practices
  • Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Technology Stack (e.g. .NET Core, C#)
  • Experience building and consuming RESTful API’s
  • Enjoys working with data (data transformations, ETLs, etc)
  • Extensive experience with Relational Databases, ideally SQL Server
  • Experience with GitLab CI/CD, DevOps, and Test Driven Development
  • Experience working in an Agile environment (e.g. Scrum, Kanban) required.
  • Experience with building applications in Amazon Web Services
  • Understand enterprise level data flows across all firm-wide systems
  • Provide assistance with monitoring the timeliness of file feeds to databases that support client reporting
  • Familiarity with the following is a plus:  Microservice Architecture, Containers, Secrets Management, Terraform, Splunk
  • Experience with SS&C’s Vision FI client reporting application or similar product is highly desired (e.g. Vermillion, Kurtosys, Coric)
  • Experience in financial services and the investment management industry is desired
