Technical Business Analyst - W2 only - No ability for Transfer or Sponsorship

About the role:

We're looking for a versatile analyst to join our Marketing Application Development team. As a Business Systems Analyst you will investigate and describe usage workflows for our IDEXX Marketing Applications and Sales Enablement tools. Your discovery process will include technical deep dives into existing systems, supporting software and data pipelines.  It will require conversations and interviews with key business and technology stakeholders. You’ll document system processes and translate business needs into technical configurations and detailed requirements for a development team to use as guideline for their programming work. You’ll serve on enhancement/project teams as technical liaison between business clients and the development group.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform detailed systems and business requirements analysis.
  • Lead requirements meetings.
  • Create requirements documents, including use case, workflow diagrams, detailed business rules and other information.
  • Create detailed user stories for managing, planning and testing work to meet the needs of the development team.
  • Communicate with application and software developers, product management, IT, reference labs, and other related business lines on regular basis.
  • Communicate back to IT leadership about technical feasibility of requests and project plans and any modifications necessary, coordinating with project team to agree on course of action.
  • Answer technical questions and research users’ issues/questions.
  • Implement projects within and across departments, delivering quantifiable improvements and financial benefits.
  • Develops strong professional relationships with strategic stakeholders
  • Assisting with the creation of UX (user experience) design prototypes for customer research
     

What do you need to succeed?

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • 3+ years of professional business experience.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, including the ability to translate technical subject matter to non-technical audiences (both as a speaker and listener).
  • Ability to problem solve and draw conclusions, in some cases with limited information.
  • Excellent customer service and business relationship-building skills.
  • Initiative and self-motivation to work under minimal supervision with latitude for independent judgment.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Ability to lead and influence without authority.
  • Planning and organizational skills, with ability to prioritize and be flexible with changing business needs.
  • General business knowledge preferred, including specific knowledge of business/products supported.
  • Experience in Agile development methodology and writing criteria.
