Technical Product Manager

Description
This position will act as the product owner for software development team building enterprise services and solutions primarily focused on identity and access, including licensing, login, and registration. Our goal is to accelerate student outcomes through intuitive and effective solutions aimed at maximizing time spent teaching and learning. This role requires both product ownership of the development teams and leadership of cross-functional coordination for implementation. 
 
Specifically, the TPM supports the development team and fellow TPM leaders in the design, development, and implementation of access-related solutions. The TPM is responsible for driving the successful delivery of new features and improvements. The TPM acts as the conscience of the product and the steward of the development teams.
 
This particular development team is largely focused on technical, backend solutions. The TPM should have a strong technical background and be able to understand implementation details on a technical level. An engineering background is preferred but not required.

  • Partner with technical teams to draft Agile epics and stories with appropriate level of detail. Maintain a groomed backlog and prioritize stories for development, effectively managing scope and trade-offs.

  • Partner with Program Managers and Engineering Leads to facilitate Agile ceremonies; ensure cross team dependencies are identified and managed; and ensure on-time, on-quality software releases.

  • Partner with TPMs and stakeholders across the company to gather and prioritize new requirements.

  • Triage incoming software defects and queries from internal and external customers, following up to ensure defect resolutions meet SLA.

  • Support TPM leadership in planning and driving initiatives with stakeholders and technical teams. Create documentation as needed to streamline integrations and cross-team projects.

Minimum Qualifications/KSA’s
 
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2-4 years of experience in leading Agile- based, software product development teams.
  • Successful in leading and collaborating across teams of technologists, designers, and customer-facing teams
  • Technical acumen – capable of writing requirements for API-based solutions.
  • Enjoy collaborating closely with software developers and quality engineers
  • Ability to handle complexity and process new information quickly
  • Experience managing dynamic projects with competing resources and priorities
  • Proven ability to work with minimal supervision and strategically prioritize work in a proactive manner
  • Ability to deliver results in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, think-on-your-feet business environment
 
Preferred Qualifications/KSA’s
 
  • Engineering background preferred, but not required.
  • Experience with K12 digital products or K12 education.
