Data Architect Job Requirements
The Data Architect will support the implementation of a data lake in AWS.
• You must be able to define source data and align data with business requirements and able to build data model using toolsets.
• You have architected data lake implementation from source data systems to data lake and build data catalog capabilities, and experience in establishing governance policies. You have experience in aligning and building data relationships to business processes. Your knowledge is not just abstract and you have hands-on experience with data-lake proof of concepts using tools ideally from AWS.
• You should be able to effectively communicate with both technical and business stakeholders for requirements analysis, and will be highly proficient in the data architecture, technical architecture, design, and development of database and data-warehouse design.
• You should be proficient in AWS Cloud technologies, catalog tools, data ingestion and governance tools.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Design and perform all activities related to source databases, and data marts components between environments during development and deployment.
• Design and document source data to business domains as per business requirements
• Document requirement specifications and any related designs
• Test reports or review ETL for data accuracy and conduct root cause analysis and remediation of issues.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Exhibit exceptional technical skills in database architecture, database design and ETL.
• AWS and/or Amazon Redshift experience is highly preferred.
• Proven experience in data ingestion tools, data governance, MDM, and data catalogs.
• Displays knowledge of the proper way to adhere to the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to quickly recognize, isolate, and resolve technical problems.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks appropriately and adapt quickly to project changes.
Education, Experience, & Certifications
• Experience in AWS data lake implementations and migrating Datawarehouse data to data lake.
• Experience with AWS cloud-based databases, S3, Redshift and data warehouses.
• Hands-on experience with implementation and support of a business intelligence reporting suite.
• Working knowledge of data security frameworks, data quality frameworks, metadata management & data catalogs, and data governance frameworks.
• Minimum of 10 years of IT experience and at least 5 years in data architect role
• Prior experience in implementation of Data Lake in AWS is highly desirable
