Sr. Associate Electronics Technician
Syrinx in collaboration with our top tier client, is seeking a highly capable Electronics Technician to join teams in the Allston Innovation Laboratory, in order to build out our capabilities in the test and automation side of Clients product development.
As an associate electrical engineering technician with Syrinx's Client team, you will be on the front line of innovative product development for an international leader in manufacturing wireless devices for the consumer market, as well as building out our development of other EE devices for the consumer market.

Working closely with our engineers, you will!

  • Build, test, and create electrical prototypes and refine complex validation tasks for a highly diverse portfolio of consumer electronic products
  • Utilize available technologies to speed up, automate, or simplify existing testing methods to find and remove overlap and redundancies
  • Diagnose and repair electrical problems in our test builds
  • Conduct measurements and analyze data via testing (soft and hardware)
  • Repair and maintain laboratory equipment (scopes and our cool-tools)
  • Use existing extensive lab to automate, or simplify existing testing methods to find and remove overlap and redundancies (wink)
Candidates must be proficient in:
  • Creation and execution of detailed design qualification test plans
  • Fundamentals of electronics, builds, and understand a product's functional and performance requirements, and determination of suitable test equipment 
  • Soldering (through-hole, point-to-point, SMD, 0201, 38AWG, IPC J-STD-001)
  • Chassis wiring, creating wiring diagrams AC power safety, and best practices for wiring procedures for qualification/certifications
  • Conducting electrical measurements (ex: oscilloscope and DVM)
  • Diagnosing and repairing faults in testing
  • Analyze our designs through any combination of automation, programming, infrastructure or prototype improvement
Candidates must be familiar with:
  • Any exposure to coding for test automation, including C++, Python, or JSON
  • Electrical simulation software (pSpice, etc.)
*Acoustics experience and mechanical skills would be a huge plus
Experience with audio electronics, loudspeakers, microphones, audio recording, audio measurement tools, and medical devices are preferable.
Education: BS in Engineering Technology or related field preferred
Location: Greater Boston-Allston, MA
