DevOps Engineer (Cloud Platforms) – Open Stack
The Cloud Platforms group is looking for a DevOps engineer to support and grow our VMware Integrated OpenStack (VIO) environment to provide an infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) platform for the MIT community, including research computing.
 
Essential Functions/Requirements: 
 

• Expert knowledge of the OpenStack platform including such  services as Ceilometer Cinder, Keystone, Glance, Heatm Horizon, Nova, Neutron, Swift
• Knowledge of Software Defined Networking technologies (SDN).  NSXv is a plus
• Knowledge of software defined storage a plus
• Strong working knowledge of Python and the OpenStack APIs
• Experience with Cloud APIs a plus
• Strong grasp of automation tools (Ancible and/or Puppet)
• Knowledge of VMware vSphere a plus
• Knowledge of containers a plus
• Experience working within  an agile team environment
• Strong grasp of  Linux (optimizing, securing, and troubleshooting); Redhat Enterprise preferred
• Ability to analyze and interpret complex problems or processes, identify and understand requirements and develop alternate solutions.
• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation
• Experience designing, developing, testing, and deploying applications/ systems using proven or emerging technologies, in a variety of technologies and environments.
