Principal Engineer, Global Enterprise Data Architect
We are seeking a world-class Data Architect with a strong background and experience modeling for global Customer and Product System-Of-Record (SOR) to help us establish a unified view of customer records across disparate global internal systems. We are in the midst of an exciting, once-in-a-decade re-architecture of our customer and product SOR, and need a high energy, technically savvy evangelist to help implement state-of-the-art ideas and industry best practice.
Envisioned to be the primary source of truth for provisioning customers and associated profile information, including but not limited to 1) Customer hierarchy as needed by customer’s accounting practice and that aligns with internal functional areas requirements. 2) Location information & 3) Purchased products and services. Has the information stored in disparate systems and the new SOR would enable to provide a unified view of customer records across disparate global systems for 1) reporting & analytics 2) accurate billing and invoicing c) responsive customer care.
A critical element of success is the degree to which we can enable agility and ease in the various business units delivering functionality and services via this SOR. This requires an intuitive, extensible and scalable Data Model that not only acts as a strong foundational model, but also to ensure it maps very well with the business taxonomy and cohesive with the key workflows asked by our enterprise customers.
The Data Architect has a unique opportunity to drive the implementation and adoption of industry standard tools and processes for Data Modeling and Governance on both relational and non-relational data stores. In a fast paced and complex development environment, you will need to develop a clear technical vision for people to follow, as well as be an excellent collaborator and evangelist for the best practices and solutions that will power the new architecture.
Requirements:
· 8+ years of relevant data management consulting (master data, metadata, data architecture, data governance, data quality)
· Significant experience leading complex data management engagements and team sizes ranging from 10-50 resources.
· Strong implementation experience and deep knowledge in any two of the following three areas and working knowledge of the other area at a minimum.
· Implementation experience in all the 3 areas preferred (1) Master Data Management (2) Data Governance (3) Data Quality
· Deep knowledge of the strategic business drivers and operational process requirements within at least one industry such as Records Management, Information Governance and enterprise storage.
· Must be able to link industry specific business requirements to EDM capability requirements.
· Deep knowledge of more than one EMD toolset(MDM, Metadata, Data Quality) such as Oracle PDM/DRM/DataHub/EDQ, Tibco, ODI, Informatica, Global IDs / Metadata Crawler,Teradata, InfoLibrarian,LogicLibrary, and/or SchemaLogic
· Ability to architect an Enterprise DataManagement solution and provide business, governance and technical recommendations to appropriate client/business managers.
· Ability to recommend EDM process, governance, organizational and platform models, tool selections and application integration options.
· Experience Developing of statements of work and/or client proposals
· Experience transferring knowledge and best practices to client
· Experience working with CxO level executives on a daily basis
In addition, successful Enterprise Data Architect will also have the following preferred skills and experiences:
· Lead business opportunities to increase usability and profitability of analytics platform and information architecture.
· Lead executive level governance boards
· Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills (MS Visio, MS PowerPoint)
· Willingness to mentor junior staff
· 7+ years’ experience in electronic information management space (structured and unstructured).
