Database admin/developer – SQL, AWS/Azure; financial services is helpful but not necessary

What You’ll Do:

· Support and enhance our existing application database infrastructure, provide administration and operational support of production databases, including on-call responsibilities.

· Pro-actively tune and optimize existing workloads.

· Contribute to automation efforts with respect to infrastructure as code and database code deployments.

· Plan and execute the migration of existing data environments from on-premises to AWS and/or Snowflake.

· Contribute to project-based work while managing the on-demand workload of pro-active support.

· Collaborate with other teams to ensure best practices and adherence to architectural standards.

· In addition to core database related responsibilities, the engineer will have an opportunity contribute to all aspects of product engineering within the team.

We’re Looking for Teammates With:

· Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field with 7+ years of experience as a database engineer in financial services or a similar domain.

· Administration level expertise with Microsoft SQL Server.

· Experience with operational support of production databases.

· T-SQL programming, performance, and optimization

· Experience with backup/recovery tasks, user administration, data system installation and configuration

· Hands-on experience working with software engineering teams on data architecture and database design.

· Software development or scripting experience (python, PowerShell, C#, node.js, etc.)

· Experience with the following a plus:

o Infrastructure as code, preferably HashiCorp Terraform

o Amazon Web Services, including both relational and non-relational database services.

o Snowflake Data Platform.
