.NET Software Engineer (Financial Services exp required)

Senior Software Engineer
Boston, MA (Remote to start)
12-month contract with extensions
 
Position Overview
This position has development and maintenance responsibility for the software programs, databases and processes associated with the creation and delivery of securities and reference information to the client. The position provides exposure to many business units in a dynamic investment management environment.  The Senior Software Engineer will work closely with other IT team members of varying disciplines and our internal business partners to meet stated objectives.  Experience working with modelling and maintaining different instrument types such as Equities, Fixed Income, and SWAPS is a plus but not required.
 
Responsibilities
  • Work on a delivery team to enhance and support software applications
  • Maintain, enhance, and develop new database objects
  • Maintain, enhance, and develop data interfaces and ETL processes for applications
  • Investigate and resolve issues impacting our production environment
  • Work collaboratively within IT and various business units across the firm
 
Qualifications
  • B.S. in computer science or related field; 5-7 years’ experience.  Experience in financial services a plus
  • Demonstrated knowledge of modern software design principles, concepts, and practices.
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Technology Stack (e.g. ASP.NET Core, C#, SQL Server)
  • Familiarity with AWS native technologies
  • Experience working in Agile Methodology (e.g. Scrum, Kanban)
  • Experience building data abstraction layers using APIs
  • Experience with CI/CD and Test Driven Development
  • Familiarity with the following is a plus:  Terraform, Python, Node.js, Microservice Architecture, Containers, Service Discovery, Secrets Management, IaC, GraphQL, Okta
  • Must be detail oriented with outstanding analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent teamwork and consensus building skills
