Sr. Batch Administrator

SUMMARY/ROLE:

 
In this position, you will be on a team that responds to Incident and Service Requests to maintain service level requirements, workload schedules and print/output. Your knowledge of IWS/TWS should be in-depth enough to create new batch jobs and make recommendations for improvement
 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyze complex application dependencies and pre-requisite relationships and work actively with the applications developers to optimize job processing and scheduling aligned to business requirements.
  • Coordinate and implement batch scheduling on new and existing projects for all environments.
  • Provide direct support on all batch-scheduling changes.
  • Identify technical, infrastructure, procedural issues, and coordinate batch scheduling needs.
  • Assist in operations architecture, including event monitoring.
  • Manage and monitor LRS based print\output management environment.
  • Provide functional product support for Scheduling Software.
  • Provide basic troubleshooting of problems. Escalate accordingly.
  • Enforces adherence to existing production support operational readiness standards.
  • Performs troubleshooting of system stalls, failed batch jobs, system errors, as needed to resume normal operations in accordance with specific guidelines and procedures and provide a root cause analysis.
Preferred:          
  • IBM/Tivoli Workload Scheduler certification a plus.
  • LRS Enterprise Output Management.
  • Micro Focus Enterprise experience.
  • Cloud environment experience (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Experience supporting multiple customers.

KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES
  • Maintaining focus on customer satisfaction through process improvement, workflow automation, and two-way communications.
  • Maintains direct knowledge of all system operations processes, procedures, and quality standards.
SKILLS REQUIRED FOR THE POSITION
  • In-depth knowledge of IBM/Tivoli Workload Scheduler (IWS\TWS), including related control and monitoring systems.
  • Must have 5+ years administration experience with IWS\TWS functions to plan, install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot and failures.
  • 5+ years’ experience working on Linux & Windows Operating systems.
  • Familiarity automated workload management and monitoring
  • Must be able to support various SDLC i. e. Dev, Test, Implementation & Production.
  • Experience in creating and maintaining operational run books for distributed batch operations.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
  • Strong customer service focus.
