Senior Infrastructure Engineer
This role is based in Boston, MA (remote for Covid-19 times) with a Syrinx Financial Technology Partner

Experience in investment management or financial services industries considered a huge plus
 
This position is a member of a small Infrastructure team responsible for all aspects of planning, development, implementation and support of the core infrastructure systems (networking, telephony, servers, storage, and infrastructure applications)
  • Extensive experience administering a multi-site Active Directory environment
o Experience administering both Active Directory and Azure Active Directory
o Working knowledge of on premise AD deployments and Microsoft365 and Office365 platforms.
o Experience deploying and administering Group Policy Objects
o Working knowledge of imaging and software deployments using Microsoft’s SCCM.
 
  • Extensive experience architecting and administering a hybrid public cloud environment across the entire cloud computing stack
    • Working knowledge of connectivity both via VPN and direct connections
    • Experience working within hybrid cloud environments including Exchange online and public/private hybrid clouds for server infrastructure
    • Working knowledge of designing and managing cloud availability zones
    • Understanding and knowledge of cloud services and third party appliances for networking, security, and storage
    • Experience administering and maintaining backups in a multisite, hybrid environment
 
  • Deep knowledge and experience working with on-premise servers, storage, enterprise backup platforms in a virtualized environment
  • Strong working knowledge of Linux
  • Experience administering Microsoft SQL databases and servers
  • Experience managing and configuring an enterprise monitoring platform
  • Experience managing system log aggregation platforms
  • Experience working with a Service Management platform based on ITIL methodologies
  • Excellent project management, project scoping, troubleshooting, problem resolution, documentation and customer management skills
  • Solid written and oral communication skills, including the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business writing
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a collaborative environment, including flexibility to the demands of a role that requires, at times, off-hours work
  • Ability to manage multiple competing projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment with strong analytical and problem solving skills and exceptional attention to detail
  • A strong understanding of information security and risk management within infrastructure technologies, including networking, systems, and databases among others.
  • Ability to work closely with the Information Security team to investigate and identify security issues and work to resolve those to a satisfactory level.
  • High focus on deploying and maintaining secure systems
