We are partnered with a large asset management shop in Boston and seeking a Sr. SQL Server DBA to lead their DBA team.

Responsibilities:

Assume a Lead SQL Server DBA role
Troubleshoot and resolve database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, replication issues, log shipping issues, connectivity issues, and security issues
Archiving, performance tuning
Assist in performance and load testing activities
Disaster recovery planning and support
Develop and maintain best practice policies, procedures, standards and system level documentation related to the Production, Disaster Recovery and Staging environments
Perform database maintenance functions including moves, rebuilds, backups and restores
Develop and utilize database administration tools, utilities, scripts, reports and operational procedures

Requirements / Experience

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline preferred
7-10 years' IT operation experience with strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices
5+ years experience in a Lead role (preferably which includes some offshore teams)
Experience running SQL in a virtualized environment
Practical experience with the installation, maintenance, and upgrades of SQL Server
Practical experience with data migration and data replication tools, technologies, and strategies
SQL Management Studio, SQL Server Analysis Services, SQL Server Reporting Services, and Integration Services
Knowledge of reporting and query tools and practices
Knowledge of conceptual, logical and physical database design
Experience with OLAP and OLTP
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Experience with server-client computing and relational database environments
