Senior Unity Game Developer & Designer

[Updated] We are seeking a developer responsible for building games for various target platforms based on the Unity framework. Your primary responsibilities will be to implement game functionality translating design ideas, concepts, and requirements into a functional and engaging game. A commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and a quality product are essential.

Responsibilities
  • Program tools in C# and Unity
  • Excellent knowledge of Unity, including experience with scripting, textures, animation, GUI styles, and user session management
  • Assess, develop, debug, maintain, and set code standards
  • Work closely with the designer; Creating tools and processes to facilitate the development
  • Translate design specification into functional game
  • Implement UI screens
  • Work with existing frameworks, developing new frameworks and functional specifications
  • Communicate with other team members to establish effective pipeline and integrate media assets
  • Implementing game features and related systems, optimizing video performance
  • Experience optimizing memory and space usage for support of older hardware
  • Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
  • Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to address and mitigate these problems
  • Propose creative solutions to meet product goals
  • Work effectively in cross-functional teams
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with internal and remote teams to identify, produce, and deliver tasks on time
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related technical discipline
  • 8+ years experience with Unity 3D (preference for Mobile Games)
  • Proficient in C# and WebGL
  • Prior experience with a well-known mobile title or AAA titles are a significant asset
  • Strong software design, development, and programming skills, such as object-oriented programming, common design patterns, and game development lifecycles
  • Knack for writing clean, readable, and easily maintainable code
  • Experience implementing automated testing platforms and unit tests
  • Exceptional problem-solving and debugging skills
  • Experience working in Agile Teams (Scrum)
  • Experience with game engineer domains (Example: graphics, gameplay, pathfinding, animation, physics, particle systems, UI)
  • Experience with databases, mobile app development, and source control systems (Git)
  • Understanding of advanced 3D mathematics
  • Enthusiastic about gaming culture​
The role is located in an advanced space in the heart of the Boston Innovation District.
