z/OS and Interceptor Engineering Ops. 100% Remote (EST preferred)

Hey Data Center folks! Our sister team in Jacksonville FLA is looking for a Z/OS Engineer who has strong backgrounds configuring architecture, and Interceptor.(No C2C, no EAD)
Can not do sponsorship (no C2C) for these roles. Can be contract, or contract to hire. USC and GC only,

Must have a back ground in IBM Z Mainframe administration, good knowledge of Interceptor and Connect.

  • Some knowledge of DevOps is a plus, but must have experience with Source Code Management on the mainframe (e.g. Endeaver)
  • Configures and Maintains the Global Interceptors (exit programs) that invoke API services, Audit, and Authorization controls in coordination with the Development teams.
  • Enhance Inbound payload interceptor to support encryption.
  • Build new interceptor to support outbound logging. IBM just recently supported this interceptor point.
  • Build new interceptor to support Early Termination Failures. IBM just recently supported this interceptor point. We found that we had some prod errors that were not reported to Kibana, because they failed before they hit our normal interceptor, because they sent invalid data and it couldn’t be accepted.
  • Automation of deployments of z/OS Connect artifacts and configurations.
  • Automation around providing more self service capabilities for developer debugging.
  • General automation of mainframe tasks.

Technical Skills/Knowledge:

  • z/OS, WLM, MXG, SAS, DASD, ISPF, SMF/RMF, Mainview, utilities.
  • Conversant in all mainframe subsystems (CICS, DB2, IMS, HSM, etc.). Proficient with distributed systems and interfaces.
Long Term Contract to PERM options. Minimum 40hours/week +6 months.
