Responsibilities:
- Assume a Senior SQL Server DBA role
- Troubleshoot and resolve database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, replication issues, log shipping issues, connectivity issues, and security issues
- Archiving, performance tuning
- Assist in performance and load testing activities
- Disaster recovery planning and support
- Develop and maintain best practice policies, procedures, standards and system level documentation related to the Production, Disaster Recovery and Staging environments.
Requirements / Experience
- Overall maintenance of two SQL Server 2017 instances hosted on two AWS EC2 instances supporting our BI Warehouse:
- Backups
- Data file/group placement
- Identification of processes to reduce/limit locking/blocking
- Performance tuning of long running transaction
- AWS a big plus (EC2 sizing & DMS data migration services)
