Senior automation engineer

Experience developing or testing public cloud-based microservices (Rest-API’s) AWS, Azure, or similar platforms within the last 24 months (at least). (AWS strongly preferred)

• Excellent coding experience with Python, Java, JavaScript, or similar scripting languages
• Deep understanding and use of APIs in large-scale distributed systems.  (Must be comfortable passing a coding challenge)
• 2+ years’ experience designing, implementing and executing automated test frameworks
• BS in Computer Science or equivalent technical domain

Responsibilities:

• Lead the efforts for enhancing the automation framework.
• Develop test scripts in the automation framework to improve coverage.
• Follow best practices and coding standards.
• Support team direction to best implement continuous integration and automated overnight build testing·       
• Support all phases of the software lifecycle including requirements analysis, testing, release validation, and documentation
• Utilize test case management and issue tracking systems.
• Collaborate across the organization with a desire to teach and learn from others.

 
Qualifications:

• B.S in Computer Science or Equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience in Python.
• 5+ years of experience in software testing.
• Demonstrate strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

 
Nice to have:

• Experience working with Embedded products.
• Experience with Mobile device automation.
• Experience in building automation framework from the ground up
• Experience with JIRA, Jama, and source code management (SCM) tools (Subversion, Git, Jenkins, etc.)
• Experience with Bluetooth, Wifi, or other networking protocols.
